Ceylon Tea

Sri Lanka is the world's fourth largest producer of tea, and the industry employs over 1 million people in the country. With the perfect balance of rainfall, humidity and temperature, tea can be cultivated to very high standards before being distributed around the world. Tea plants were originally introduced to Ceylon (the former name for Sri Lanka) in 1824 by the British, although it would be almost 60 years before production increased dramatically.
